[...] March 27, 2007 at 4:53 pm · Filed under Wonk Browsing the blogroll at SLCSpin yesterday, I came across Mullentown, a blog by Holly Mullen, former Salt Lake Tribune columnist, and apparently wife to former Salt Lake mayor Ted Wilson (when did that happen?). The blog was pretty good in general, but one post talking about a new law in Virginia triggered some new thinking for me on an issue that I’ve been stewing on for a while: mandatory vaccination of schoolgirls for human papilloma virus (HPV).
I know. What about Gore? Interesting piece by David Remnick in the latest New Yorker "Talk of the Town" section. He slobbers all over Gore but falls just short of endorsing him for 2008. I am more intrigued about Al than any of them right now, Obama included.

I rather admire Rocky for speaking the truth about the failed presidency of W. A catastrophe for 6+ years. That his actions have driven Utah repubs crazy is just another benifit.

Is Rocky narcisisstic ? Sure. At least he`s smarter than the Paleozoic types like Cannon & Hatch.

Much nervousness about Hillary among local dems ( Sonoma ).A feeling that a Clinton restoration is a loser of epic scale. Maureen Dowd in today`s NYT is using adjectives like "feral" and "thug" for Hillary...Wow ! And we still have 20 months to go..........

Holly,

Good for Rocky! An attaboy is due! Warms my "ethnically Utahn" heart to hear him speak out. And I saw on TV where he's turning Salt Lake green by implementing energy efficient ideas. I've long thought that Bush has commited numerous impeachable acts. Just a matter of picking one.

As to the HPV vaccination, the evidence is clear that it's a rampant and now treatable cancer causing virus. Seems crazy and primitive NOT to endorse it for young girls prior to exposire. Just nuts!
