Hmm. Not to get too caught up in this growing “Al Gore in 2008″cyclone here on mullentown, but none other than Christopher Hitchens is making a thoughtful pitch for His Globalness as a serious Democratic presidential candidate here.
For all the reasons I wrote yesterday that Gore shouldn’t or won’t run, Hitchens suggests he should. Hitchens also predicts Gore will win the Nobel Peace Prize next month in Oslo. (Can’t wait to hear the right-wing retort to that if it happens: What does trumpeting a warning about global warming have to with peace for hell’s sake?)
Anyway, it’s a good read. It’ll get your brain cells scurrying around, if nothing else.

Mr.Hitchens is right on. As an American Patriot Al Gore has a duty and obligation to run for president. What happens if another repub shit-head wins? Another 4-8 years of aimless wandering with no moral compass.
Mr.Gore owes nothing to the Clintons, maybe a swift kick in the balls for Bill & a lecture on ethics and honesty for Hillary. Time for Al to step up to the plate. Think FDR 1940, last time we were in such dire straits…..
Larry;
anchorite ? I always wanted to be a mendicant…leave materialism behind and relax in a vineyard.

Wait a minute: Hitchens said:
“”George Bush at his worst is preferable to Gerhard Schröder or Jacques Chirac—politicians who put their own countries in pawn to Putin and the Chinese and the Saudis.”"
What? Sorry but that alone means this guys has shit for brains.
Gore for Pres is a smoke screen that intelligent Demo’s have to eschew. Time to put the bit between the teeth and pull for the most intelligent and the most experienced candidate (Hillary) and hope she picks Bill Richardson for #2.
Glad to see the child rapist get his due, by the way. Think how many children he and and his dad have raped (both directly and as accomplice. Now Bubba gets to play with HIM!

I do like Bill Richardson…don’t think he could win the big one but might be a good vice candidate. But I still think Hillary is not electable. Too much vitriol.
Obama and Bill. (Bill is Hispanic, right?) That would be a really big change for this country and a good one, too.
